KINGSTON ONTARIO

When I was nine years old, I created fantasies in my head and brought them to life on paper. Many people thought I just had a wild imagination. But in fact, I enjoyed thinking outside the box, playing with words and embarking on creative voyages. My passion to communicate with words and to tell other people’s stories only strengthened with time. My current positions as the Director of Marketing and Communications for Queen’s University’s Alumni Association, and as News Reporter for Kingston East Newsenable me to do what I love doing best -- communicating with people, playing with words and breathing life into stories. My communications role allows me to weave narratives digitally through various social media channels and other technical tools that inspire creativity, while my work as a reporter enables me to tell stories to the community about the community.

I have managed to gain experience in journalism and communications through my work with newspapers, magazines, blogs and also as the former host of CFRC 101.9fm’s news show, Alternative Frequency.I was also commended for promoting Queen’s University’s School of Graduate Studies by creating online profiles on their programs and enhancing their image.

I’m expanding my ability to tell stories by learning how to code so I can continue changing the world through the power of communication. Whether I’m writing or taking photos for a traditional newspaper or magazine, copywriting, or engaging in PR work for a prominent brand, storytelling is what I do best.
