Finau Lauaki

Finau is a rising singer-songwriter whose journey into music is as much about self-expression as it is about passion. At 28 years old, her sound blends the vibrant energy of pop with touches of R&B and island reggae, creating a unique, soulful style all her own.

Growing up, Finau didn’t have much, but she always had music. As a shy, introverted child, music became her primary form of communication, a way to express herself when words felt too difficult. She hated being around people, often retreating into the world of her old-school TV, where she would watch C4 and imagine herself in music videos. Her old radio was her closest companion, and listening to various radio stations ignited a fascination with the vast world of music.

At 13, Finau moved in with her cousins, who were musicians. They introduced her to the guitar and piano, and it was there that she began to experiment with music on a deeper level, slowly learning to play and write her own songs. Though her early songwriting was rough, it was the start of a creative journey that would eventually become her life's work.

Throughout high school, Finau threw herself into every music class she could, even though she struggled with the theory aspects. It wasn’t the technical side of music that excited her—it was the live performances, the chance to sing and play with others, that truly sparked her passion.

After high school, Finau moved to Mainz to pursue a Bachelor of Musical Arts, where she met like-minded individuals who helped her realize that music was more than just a passion—it was her calling. It was during her time at Mainz that she began collaborating with other musicians and solidifying her path as a professional artist.

In 2023, Finau released her debut single "Grow Up," produced by Chequrred Patterns, followed by the emotive "Possibilities." Her song "Isn’t it Obvious," which received funding for its production, became a significant milestone, surpassing her expectations with over 15,000 views on its music video.

Her most recent single, "With You," was released without much promotion, but she plans to bring new life to the track with upcoming videos. Finau’s authenticity and dedication to her craft are what set her apart. She’s an artist on the rise, with a bright future ahead and music that speaks to the heart.
