Being a Marketing major that served on A.S. Finance Committee, I want to apply my past experiences about budgets and marketing to become the change I want to see on campus. The ultimate goal is to have unity under one Spartan Identity through creativity, awareness and collaboration. Through the Youtube account, organizations can upload their recruitment video or club bio about their core values and community service. This will target incoming freshmans and transfers because they would come onto campus knowing which organizations appeal to them when confronted with so many choices. I would like to also execute videos of major events on campus and a mash-up of all events that went on at SJSU. Through this, people can reminisce and truly see a flashback of everything our university has to offer and our accomplishments. This would also show non-students the community-like environment among our campus (Spartan Pride!). Secondly, many people have also been misinformed about certain things like budgets or upcoming events. Therefore, creating an Executive League meeting will help by transferring information correctly through the grapevine. This affiliation will exist of every club president on campus where they can also network in order to do collaborations. I want to go above just A.S. events but serve as Historian for our University as a whole. As Director of Communications, I'd strive to create a non-clique environment where recognition for good deeds and individual ambitions will be celebrated.
