My name is Fiona Beal. Ilive in Cape Town South Africa where I was a primary school teacher, then acomputer teacher, trainer and writer till mid-2011. From 2011 – Feb. 2015 I worked full-timefor SchoolNetSA as a technology integration faciitator for teachers in SA, training,creating and running free online courses in technology-integration, presenting& organising webinars, networking, maintaining social media, tutoring forCOL Certificate in Technology Integration courses and writing a daily blogpostamongst many other duties. I love all the new technologies and passing on ideas about them to others. I have been a Microsoft Innovative Teacher finalist three times, and a winner for South Africa in 2009. I also achieved second place in the Pan African finals in Mauritius and participated in the World Finals in Brazil in 2009. Those events transformed my life for which I will forever be grateful to Microsoft. I attended PIL Institute in Seattle in July 2011. In 2012 I was thrilled to be highlighted on Anthony Salicito's blog (Microsoft Vice-President) (http://dailyedventures.com/?p=6724) In 2013 I was very privileged to be selected for a Google Teacher Academy in New York...so I am now thrilled to be recognized as a Google Certified Teacher. I think we are living in a very exciting age of collective wisdom and social networking - love being part of it. I am also a mum; a curriculum, blog, textbook & story writer, a Scrapbooker, a flautist and pianist, a Toastmaster; an online facilitator and course creator. I am passionate about digital storytelling and literacy projects, and so the list goes on...
