Health Fitness and Wellbeing Specialist and Amateur cyclist in England, United Kingdom
Hey, I’m Fiona
Welcome to my page. I'm an amateur time triallist riding for the Stoke based Pro Vision RT.
I came quite late to the cycling party having been an injured runner for far too long! I eventually bought a bike as a means of keeping fit and have never looked back. I started time trialling competitively in 2015 but would really class 2016 as my 'breakthrough' year.
For those of you who don't know time trialling is known as the race of truth. It's the simplest form of bike racing as its just you against the clock... It's certainly not the easiest though as I've learnt! There is definitely an art to laying everything you've got on the Tarmac and I'm still trying to master that completely.
I think I represent the saying that it's never too late to take up a new sport, along with the fact that anything is possible if you put your mind to it! I don't believe I possess any particular talent, I'm just pretty competitive and once I set my sights on a goal I like the challenge of achieving it. Never content to rest on my laurels it's then on to the next one...
I've ridden one of the fastest 10 mile TTs in the country this year (21:13) as well as riding onto the all time fastest female list for the first time.
I've qualified to represent Team GB at the World Amateur Time Trial in Perth, Australia in September and am currently looking for sponsors to help with the associated costs and logistics of this. If you'd like your company logo on my race kit, please get in touch.
