Dr. Firas Rabi earned his medical degree from the
Jordan University of Science and Technology and completed an internship in multiple specialized fields at the Jordan University Hospital. He earned his Jordan medical license in 1999.

Dr. Rabi later immigrated to the United States, to begin his postgraduate training: completing a pediatric residency at the respected Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY; and then a sub-specialty fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA. He went on to serve as an assistant professor at the University of Indiana's School of Medicine and attended to the 35-bed PICU at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was involved in numerous clinical research projects, with particular focus on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), developing a unique ECMO program for Indiana University. His experience earned him international accolades.

In 2015, he was recruited to head a new pediatric ICU in the newest children's sub-specialty hospital in Dubai, UAE. Specifically, Dr. Rabi helped set up the unit and established a pediatric ECMO program to serve the entire Middle East.

Dr. Rabi’s numerous medical awards and accolades extend back to his medical school days, when he graduated with special honors in scholastic achievement. He went on to earn recognition as an outstanding intern and a valedictorian at New York’s Children’s Hospital of Hudson County. His peers and supervisors voted him as the chief resident during his last year of pediatric training. Dr. Rabi received numerous teaching awards over the next few years, and he was eventually asked to lead a team charged with developing a new medical curriculum for all medical students in the state of Indiana. His skills as a leader and an educator were highlighted when he was asked to develop a critical care nurse practitioner program at Indiana University. The newly created pediatric critical care advanced practice provider (APP) program was one of the first in the country - a group of nurse practitioners and physician assistants trained to not only assist in the care of children in the pediatric ICU, but actually become the main caretakers of children who have undergone solid organ transplants (kidney, liver intestines). Dr. Rabi has since been asked to assist other institutions in developing similar programs.
