Dr. Firooz Mashhood

The current Medical Director of MountainView Hospital’s Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, Dr. Firooz Mashhood possesses more than two decades of experience in the field of physical medicine. Since 1985, Dr. Mashhood has worked as a physiatrist—a doctor who specializes in rehabilitation and physical medicine. Dr. Mashhood concentrates his professional efforts on treating patients in need of rehabilitative services. In his present role, Firooz Mashhood MD serves clients with a range of medical needs, from simple musculoskeletal injuries to more severe diagnoses such as brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury. Within his practice, he also offers patients education and treatment related to pain management. Dedicated to providing high-quality, streamlined, medical care, Dr. Mashhood works closely with hospital specialists in orthopedics and neurosurgery, ensuring that MountainView Hospital patients receive exceptional, integrated treatment. A medical educator as well as a practitioner, Dr. Firooz Mashhood teaches clinical practice to students and residents of the University of Nevada School of Medicine, within the Department of Internal Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Mashhood serves the Touro University College of Medicine as a Clinical Faculty Supervisor. Designated by the State of Nevada as an Impairment Evaluator, Dr. Firooz Mashhood is qualified to conduct independent assessments of personal injury and workers’ compensation claims. Dr. Mashhood also has experience as an Independent Medical Examiner. Dr. Firooz Mashhood completed his residency in 1985. As a physician, Dr. Firooz Mashhood focused his studies on physical medicine and rehabilitation, in anticipation of a career as a physiatrist. He obtained board certification in 1986. Devoted to charitable giving, Dr. Mashhood supports causes including the Clark County Medical Society Alliance and the Bahá'i Fund, while donating regularly to local food drives for the homeless. In his spare time, Dr. Mashhood enjoys international travel, reading, and following politics. He maintains his physical fitness through regular hiking.
