Liam Firth

Lyon, France

My name is Liam Firth and I am a Senior Finance Major at The Isenberg School of Management. I am passionate about Finance, French and Economics.

Growing up, countless times I would sit with eyes wide staring at a computer monitor watching numbers flash green and red, as stock prices would climb and fall through the day. I waited on the phone with my Dad as I executed orders for him across the line.(This was, of course, before the iPhone) I would run to the next room to turn on MSNBC to give him information on how the stock market was doing and any big financial news of the day. I watched these companies, the ebb and flow of the market, and their changing numbers. This is where my the seed for my career was planted.

Today, I aspire to continue on this passion through my major and career within Finance.

Last Spring; however, I took a break from that. I spent 5 months in Lyon, France learning the language of the 2nd most powerful economy in Europe, challenging myself to be a better person, a more well rounded person, a more marketable person. I wanted to garner a tangible skill--which is what I have acquired as my Advanced Level of French continues to be refined.

I look forward to the future and what it may hold, after all, It's a meandering path and I am primed to start the journey.
