Fitnat Fahrner

A TAC Tea Sommelier professional and freelance Communications and Events Co-ordinator. Past clients have included University of British Columbia (Vancouver, BC), Abco Films (Vancouver, BC), Radio X (Frankfurt, Germany) and BBC London, UK.

A trained Broadcast Journalist I have worked as a journalist, presenter and researcher for BBC Radio London, BBC Frankfurt, Radio X, Radio Kent and RTM. I love radio and Orson Wells is one of my favourite voices of all time! You can find my voice titillating your ears on the podcast "Pants Optional".

My alter egos have included dee-jay, ESL teacher, wellness consultant, speaker, and writer. I speak English, German and Twi.

Online I can be found on; Facebook - Cuppa Wellness, Twitter - @Fitnat, @3rd Chat, blogs; PortMoodyism and the 3rd Chat.

As well as being a sometime podcaster and blogger; I am a sci-fi chick, art enthusiast, natural wellness fan, documentary lover, design nerd and a staunch advocate of public libraries and literacy.

As Events Coordinator I set up the first Mentor Program for the University of British Columbia's School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture.

Locally as Director at Large at the Port Moody Art Centre and community ambassador I organized the Port Moody Youth Arts Festival and Centennial celebrations.

A high octane bibliophile; I have managed Vancouver, British Columbia's only annual Book Fair for the past 3 years. As a member and former secretary of the Alcuin Society my love of books has a constant fix. The Alcuin Society awards Canada's oldest book design award and is "the only non-profit organization dedicated to the full range of interests related to books and reading".

Giving is as necessary as receiving so I set up a short story literacy competition in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana, West Africa to promote reading and literacy among youth.
