Julie Gilbert

In my working life I'm an experienced & qualified (Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)) manager with an extensive marketing, communications & event management background with a major ICT company in the UK.

I have a wide variety of volunteer interests which include support for London's Metropolitan Police (I received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service to the community in 2007) and I volunteer and work as a steward for contemporary, immersive, theatre company Punchdrunk and as venue manager and steward at the Battersea Arts Centre (BAC).

I was also a volunteer on the task force that successfully won London’s bid for the 2012 Olympics.

And then, in 2012, I'm proud to say I was a purple & poppy clad Games Maker working throughout the Olympics and I also carried the national flame that started the Paralympic Games at Stoke Mandeville and later ran with it in the relay. Phew - what a year 2012 was :-)

Hobbies include photography, theatre and art.
