Jeff Foster
Director in Wyoming
Currently, I am the America's Promise Grant Enrollment Services Counselor/ Advisor for the Northern Wyoming Community College District where I am responsible for communicating frequently with individual students and industry partners throughout Sheridan, Johnson, and Campbell Counties, as well as providing service to improve performance, retention, and completion rates of these students. Previously, I was the the Child and Youth Program Coordinator for the Wyoming National Guard. In the past I was the Service Manager/Program Development Officer with a non–profit that dealt with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injury in North Eastern Wyoming. Prior to this career choice, I spent the several years as a Health and Physical Education teacher primarily on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana. Before moving to Montana I was the Assistant Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Edinboro University.
Personally I have enjoyed extraordinary success and focus as an athlete, including being an Olympic Trials Finalist in the marathon and as a competitor representing the United States internationally.
I began running competitively in high school in 1971. Since then I’ve accumulated many awards and memories that have given me a unique perspective into running and training at distances ranging from a quarter mile to ultra-marathons including 100 miles and 24 hour runs. I also have over 115,000 career miles run since beginning competitive racing.
