I knew I wanted to be a writer when I was about 5 years old. My father was on a trip to Russia and I started writing my first “novel” about a little boy growing up in the Soviet Union. I wrote a page or two before realizing that it’s important to actually know something about your subject. Fortunately I kept at it. Alas, I never finished my novel about the little Russian boy but I did go on to write for newspapers, magazines, and numerous web sites.

But writing is only half of what I enjoy doing . . .
