Fred Lali

Mr.Fred Lali (https://orcid.org/0009-0005-5310-7818)is a Forester and Environmentalist, with a B.Sc. Forestry and M.Sc (Env’t &NRMs) respectively from Makerere University and MBA from Unicaf University, Zambian Affiliate of East London. He is currently on a PhD Program at Makerere University on applications of AI-integrated geospatial technologies in quantification of Shea tree productivity and rate loss. He has a Post graduate Certificate in Basic Research Skills from Centre for Basic Research, CBR Kololo Uganda, and Carbon Forestry from Albert-Ludwig University of Freiburg, Germany. This enhanced his capacity to develop, Project Document Design (PDD) in preparation for any carbon verification or validation for certification. His M.Sc research was in estimation of carbon stock and emission from BAT plantations and tobacco barns in arua district. He has ESRI’sCertificates in Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Building Geo-database, and Global Positioning Satellite Systems (GPS). Other certificates in International Standards of Organization (ISO, 9001, ISO 14001), Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Microsoft Products (Excel, Words, & access). He is also an Environmental Practitioner with National Environment Management Body, NEMA Practicing the assessment of Investment activities on environment on behalf of NEMA.

He is a member of the Uganda Forestry Association (UFA), Uganda Forestry Working Group, (UFWG), Uganda Timber Growers Association (UTGA), African Forestry Forum (AFF), Uganda Association of Impact Assessors (UAIA), Environment Impact Assessment, and many online memberships in Climate Change, International Institute on Sustainable Development (IISD), The International Society of Tropical Foresters (ISTF) and the International Forestry Working Group of the Society of American Foresters (SAF), World Wide Fund for Nature Conservation (WWF), IUCN, WorldBank Group, World Resources Institute (WRI), CIFOR, ICRAF, PPGIS, Geospatial Technology Group, Global Forestry Watch (GFW), etc

Mr. Fred Lali currently consults with a GIS, Forestry, EIA and Natural Resources Management firm, Earth CONSULT (U) Ltd where he is responsible but not limited to Technical Documentation, Consultancy Coordination, Project Management and Networking. He has greatly travelled all over the country (Uganda) and East Africa with great experience in different environments and social set ups.
