FlatironMike Weyand
New York, NY
I live in the heart of NYC at the Prince George, which used to be a hotel but now is housing for lucky folk who had a hard-luck housing situation but qualified to live here. Because rent is based on our income, I can afford to live in the middle of the exciting Flatiron District on Social Security with enough to enjoy it. I have a cat, LuciFFer, who I like to take to Madison Square Park in the Summer so he can experience some of the being outside and not be only a house cat. I am an activist for human rights, especially, LGBT rights, and always love watching the huge Stonewall March the last Sundae in June from my corner of 28th & 5th. As a long-time AIDS Survivor I have participated in workshops to better understand what options I have today as well as give support to others who are also facing similar issues.
I love to ride my bike, Oskar, around the City and have done long-distance cycling in the past and hope to maybe do it again in the future if I get a betting bicycle for that sort of need.
I am an avid reader of technology and try to incorporate some of the advances in how I use the Web and other resources.
Finally, I love NYC, the architecture, the pulse of the City that never sleeps, and the fact that you do NOT have to have a car nor drive to get around here.
