A passionate educator with experience from pre-k to age 21, I believe that all students can learn. As educators, we must not only engage students, but also empower them to pursue their own passions and interests to prepare them for their future. Through Universally Designed classrooms and schools, we can break down the barriers for all learners. It is my goal to erase the lines between general and special education; instead, we must set high standards for every student and provide them with the tools to meet those standards. This can only be done through meaningful collaboration between students, parents, educators, and community members.

I also believe strongly in the importance of being a connected educator. Professional connections across disciplines, throughout districts, and around the world are vital for our growth and for that of our students. I am stronger because of the knowledge and support that I have gained through my Personal Learning Network.

Outside of school, I am the wife of a clown (seriously), and the mother of two fabulous teenagers, who keep me very busy at sports, band and color guard activities.
