James Fleming

James B. Fleming graduated from Albion College in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in Professional Management. He received a Juris Doctorate in 1989 from the University of Detroit School of Law where he was a member of the Order of Barristers and the Corporate and Tax Journal. He was an instrumental member in the University of Detroit Law Review, University of Detroit Moot Court and the National Moot Court Trial Team. He received the American Jurisprudence Award in both Real Estate Transactions and Constitutional Law.

Mr. Fleming concentrates on Civil Litigation, Corporate Law, Commercial Litigation, Real Estate and Personal Injury. He has handled thousands of cases, many of them involving difficult and complex issues at the district and circuit court levels. He has appeared before and won cases in both the Michigan Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court.

He is a member of the Jackson Country Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, and both the Eastern and Western District of the United States Federal Court.

Before returning to his hometown of Jackson to start his own practice in 1991, Mr. Fleming worked for a large Detroit law-firm and a mid-size Grand Rapids firm.
