Ever since I got my license and my first car when I turned sixteen, I have nannied the same family now going on three years. While this job started out as an easy way to make spending money, I started to foster my love for kids and taking care of them. It taught me so many valuable things that have shaped me into the person I am today. I remember griping to my parents about the long hours and seemingly impossible patience I had to have while attending this job and working with the kids, but it has made me more of a patient and understanding person. It helped me pass the seemingly long, hot days of summer, but it quickly became one of my biggest treasures. I have become more patient and understanding as a person, and it has made me become more spontaneous. From walking to my hometown ice cream parlor on a random summer day to having a lemonade stand for all the neighborhood, I truly felt like I was living on the edge with the kids I nannied. While our daily activities may seem insignificant and silly to some, these two amazing kids showed me just how fun and exciting life can be if one takes advantage of them small moments of happiness in the day. From a writing standpoint, I have struggled with writing ever since I was a child due to crippling dyslexia, however, I have become more positive and open about writing due to this life experience. It allows me to put my thoughts on paper and have the confidence to do so, and I can whole-heartedly say these children are one of my biggest inspirations for me to do my best, not only in school but in life. My writing journey has been long and full of ups and downs, but these children have given me a more positive look on the things that I struggle with due to their fun-loving outlooks.
