I have been involved with some sort of counseling all my life. Beginning from peer mentoring and tutoring in middle and high school. I received my undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern University with a B.S. in Psychology and a minor in Child and Family Development. I have always had a keen interest in working with women that have suffered from being battered. In my undergraduate years I spent majority of my junior year volunteering at a battered women's shelter. Although, I was only allowed to work with the children. However, it was then that I realized how much my love grew for each child. I began to participate in seminars that advocated to acknowledge the community about child abuse and domestic violence. I even decided to take a child development class in which I got to work closely with a child care and work alongside the Preschool teachers. I had a wonderful professor who had her PH.
