Elise Wilkerson

I'm a wanderer.
I was born on a farm to two loving parents who wanted nothing more than more than what they had.
They took a brave step when I was four years old and moved my family across the pacific to a small island paradise. I lived there for the next five and a half years before moving to Iowa..the exact opposite of the ocean life I had grown so attached to.
After five years of rural life, I moved once again to the place that I truly had to learn to fend for myself....New Mexico...the land of my ancestors...and the land that I am positive has tried to slowly bind me in to mind numbing mediocrity.
I have taken many breaks away from its chains, living in Colorado for three years and visiting amazing wonders such as Romania, India, Australia, and more.
I don't feel that I have a place I can truly call home. I claim every place I've ever been as a piece of my homestead.
I'm a teacher, musician, free spirit, and even freer thinker. I crave my mammas chicken and dumplings on a regular basis. My greatest fear is disappointing my parents and not living an existence that sucks every ounce of life's goodness with every breath. I celebrate holidays as if I were five years old. I love to speak and write in run on sentences that use the word and as if it were asking for another breath. I love my pets with a mothers intensity and have quite possibly the softest heart of anyone I know.
I am a wanderer.
