Diego Fontes

San Diego, California, United States

My name is Diego Fontes, and I am a student, an inspiring digital marketer, and a soccer enthusiast. I was born and raised in Montevideo, Uruguay, and I am currently attending California State University, San Marcos, looking to earn my Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Marketing. My expected graduation date is May of 2016, and I strive to work in a creative environment that challenges my thinking and values my strengths. I am a dedicated, hard-working, outgoing individual, who loves traveling, soccer, teaching and coaching, and helping others around me succeed.

I am intrigued by the world of digital marketing, and have 2 years of experience in social media marketing, content strategy, content developing, web publishing, social listening, and community management. Within digital, I am highly interested in content/social strategy, content developing, content/web publishing, user experience design, user experience research, information architecture, and web managing. Although I’ve learned skills that have allowed me to work effectively in a digital marketing role, I am constantly looking to improve, and to continue learning and enhancing my skills, in order to become an expert in my desired field.

Aside from the academic and the ‘professional career’ stuff, I am a former student athlete, playing four years of collegiate soccer. I am now a youth club soccer coach, and play at the semi-professional level. Soccer is my one true passion, and what brings the most joy to my life. It will always be a part of me, and no matter where life takes me, I am certain that I will always be involved with the game, whether it be playing, coaching, owning my own club, or being a spectator from the sidelines.

I enjoy the beach, art, traveling, photography, cooking, spending time with my family, and being around friends

Choosing a lifestyle that includes all of the things mentioned above is essential to my happiness and it is what motivates me. Someone I look up to once told me: “Don’t just choose a job or a career, choose a lifestyle” These words have become what I live by, and as I look to enter the professional working world, rather than looking for just a job, I will be looking to create a lifestyle, making sure to touch on the essential factors to my happiness.
