Vote YES on Issue 1 in Mentor, OH
“It’s a rare day when any private landowner offers to work with a good organization like the Western Reserve Land Conservancy to preserve 70 acres of beautiful land just for the enjoyment of the citizens of Mentor and the surrounding communities.”
“I don’t ordinarily like any rezonings, but this one seems to be well thought out and the best possible use for the property.”
- John Dmytriw, Mentor resident since 1977
Issue 1
• Preserves 70 acres of ancient forest as a permanent public park maintained by Western Reserve Land Conservancy
• Integrates the historic Bolton Home with a vibrant, walkable neighborhood
• Provides new housing styles for Mentor families
• Creates a new gathering place for Mentor families featuring outdoor recreation and neighborhood amenities
The Bolton family property on the corner of 615 and Johnnycake in Mentor is on the ballot to be rezoned from Conservation and Single-Family Residential to Planned Mixed-Use Development.
PMUD zoning exists to encourage a mix of complementary land uses, skillful planning, and create desirable public and private common open spaces. Furthermore, it establishes design criteria to ensure that the development project creates interesting places and walkable districts, with structures of extraordinary quality and design, properly integrated into the surroundings and compatible with the neighborhood character.
If Issue 1 passes, the final site plan will still require approval by Mentor City Council.
Ballot Language:
