I am Forbes D Gilchrist (Dan), I am a retired Microelectronics executive and engineer with 4 patents, 3 in under-hood electronics and one in Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) devices as well as a published paper and several articles about SAW devices. I have worked in advanced R&D and semiconductor manufacturing, with emphasis on wafer fabrication and device assembly. My experience ranges from Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD), entrepreneurship to writing.
In 1970 I designed and built an ignition system, while at Motorola, for the Blueflame, rocket powered land world speed record setting vehicle. Thus fulfilling a dream.
Today I am an Adjunct Professor at Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, Michigan, a small business owner, Laser engraver, Technology Consultant and Founding Member at the Fab Lab at Muskegon Community College in Muskegon, Mi.

My passion is space travel, I met Dr Werhner von Braun while in High School in Aliquippa, PA and my dream is to explore deep space right here on earth.
I'd do that by developing rovers and drones that could, one day, be used to really explore planetary objects.
