What would ever possess a girl to pursue photography? Lunacy, I guess but it is an incredible journey! Photography means to me the creation of things not seen in the way that I view them or the remembrance of things that are familiar because each person is diverse from another person. Through the use of photography, the creativity that is expressed allows the soul to voice its feelings generated by the heart and mind. The soul is sparked to speak, so that healing can begin. Healing allows one to touch his/her soul through the use of photography and the healing that results is apparent in the reality of living or dying. The tools of photography are varied but effective to allow the diversity of souls to voice what lies within. These tools include words (written, spoken, or sung) as well as a camera. In combination, these tools heal one to be whole again such that the heart can feel, the mind can think, and the mouth to voice what is within the soul. This holistic integration of the soul, heart, and mind results in actions that make one to move peaceably forward in the journey of life and death. Hence, the creation of my company, Ravynword’s Sanctuary – healing through photography and word, is born.
I started my own photography business, Ravynword’s Sanctuary, in 2011. My business website is on Facebook. I also write a photography blog. The blog document featured photographers that I know, tips & techniques, and my journey of healing through photography and word as I seek to fulfill the purpose for which I have been called to complete.
"I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something; and because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do something that I can do" ~~Helen Keller
"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”~~ Steve Jobs
