MICHAEL FORIAN leads government affairs in Canada for Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), the third-largest beverage company in North America. KDP offers a wide variety of hot and cold beverages marketed under more than 60 flagship brands including Dr Pepper, Canada Dry, Snapple, Mott’s, CORE, as well as the Keurig brewing system, and leading owned brands like Van Houtte, Timothy’s, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and The Original Donut Shop.

Michael has leadership experience working in media, international relations, and on Canada’s federal, provincial, and municipal scenes. He started his professional career as a journalist for Bell Media and has regularly appeared on CTV, CBC, and Global News to analyze and comment on Canadian current affairs.

He served governments in both eastern and western Canada, notably in the Government of Quebec during the premiership of Philippe Couillard as an advisor to the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Minister for Indigenous Affairs, and the Government of Alberta as press secretary, acting chief of staff and senior advisor in various executive offices during the premiership of Jason Kenney.

Outside of government, he worked as Manager of Strategic Initiatives and Senior Advisor to the President & CEO at the International Economic Forum of the Americas (IEFA), a non-profit organization that brings together world leaders, financial experts, and business professionals to exchange views and perspectives on major economic issues.

Michael is a corporate director for Encorp Pacific (Return-It) in British Columbia and the Alberta Beverage Container Recycling Corporation, two leading stewardship agencies focused on ensuring that non-refillable beverage containers are recovered and recycled. Encorp Pacific and the ABCRC collectively recover more than 3 billion bottles and generate over $378 million in revenue annually, while receiving no funding from government sources.
