Fortunate Buhle Thwala
Student in Gauteng, Johannesburg
My name is Fortunate Buhle Thwala, a third-year Bachelor of Education student at the University of Johannesburg, majoring in Geography and Life Sciences. I am passionate about education and aspire to become a Geography lecturer, where I can inspire future generations and contribute to meaningful learning through quality teaching.
My teaching philosophy is centred on creating an inclusive, engaging, and learner-focused environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, environmental awareness, and active citizenship. I believe that education has the power to transform lives and communities, and I am committed to helping young people develop the knowledge and skills they need to make a positive impact on society.
My research interests focus on sustainable geography and environmental sustainability, with a particular interest in understanding how education can promote environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
Outside of my academic life, I enjoy travelling, exploring different cuisines, staying active through fitness, and photography. These interests inspire my curiosity about people, places, and the environment, and they continue to shape both my personal growth and my journey as a future educator.
