Foster Makena

Foster is a 3rd year student teacher at the university of Johannesburg, colloquially known as UJ, which is situated in Gauteng province, South Africa. He specializes in Mathematics education both senior phase and Further Education and Training (FET phase). Life Sciences is my second major.

Foster have also completed eight weeks of pre-service teacher training where he was effectively engaging his senior phase and FET learners into a meaningful lessons in Mathematics and Life Sciences. Foster is currently Coaching grade 7 group of learners at Soweto under a Non-profit organisation called Numeric. He is also a tutor for Life Sciences at the University of Johannesburg.

Despite the fact that Foster is already engaged, he will be doing his final year for his BEd Degree in 2016. Foster is looking forward to use his globally fit pedagogic content knowledge to inclusively engage all learners in Mathematics and Science Education so as to empower and transform them, thus making them effective citizens of a democratic society!
