Fouine

This is a blog about me and my efforts to kick the drink. As the blog would suggest, I'm an academic, a middle-aged male one, living in the UK. I am also what is variously described as an 'alcoholic' or a 'problem drinker'. I've been sober for some quite long periods before, but drifted back into the netherworld of drinking - the one where things that really shouldn't be normal start to appear normal. So, essentially the blog is just about my trials and tribulations in trying to get sober - the things I do to stay sober, the challenges I face, and other scattered thoughts about random things that occur to me along the way.
