I have always been a person who puts my education at the forefront of everything, while supporting that with great amounts of involvement in not only my school and community, but my state as well. I see myself as a student who has become very rounded in my approach to life, as I have learned to balance my educational pursuits with my physical and social dreams and goals.
The scholastic achievements I have obtained while in high school are many. I have taken the hardest class load offered at my school (Spalding High School, Griffin Georgia), while maintaining a GPA of 4.04 and graduating 14th in my class. I have also been not only a member, but the captain of the varsity academic team for the four years at my school. My scholastic passion though would have to be speaking, as I annually do a multitude of speaking competitions. I recently won my region in the extemporaneous speaking and then place 3rd in the state competition. My talents also extend into the fields of science and language, as I placed in my region’s science fair and won the regional Young Georgia Authors contest. Twice I received recognition for my scores on the National Latin Exam as I scored in the top percentiles in the nation. I am also very involved with the community service and leadership clubs at my school. I am a member of the Future Business Leaders of America (1 yr project chair), Key Club (4 yrs projects chair), Beta Club (4 yrs), National Honor Society (2 yrs/ 1 yr vice pres.), Interact (3yrs), and 4-H (8 yrs/ jr,sr, and state boards). I have also been to many leadership programs such as the Georgia Boys State program run by the American Legion; here I ran for and was voted by my 400 peers to be the Governor of this week long creation of a fictitious state, which was quite an honor for me.
My one true passion is getting to test my leadership, and grow as a person, while helping others to grow and achieve with me. I learned this valuable skill while being a member of the 4-H club since 5th grade. 4-H has always been my one true love, and I have excelled at it. I held school level offices in 5th and 6th grade, but beginning in the 7th grade, I ran for one of eight junior level positions in the northwest district of Georgia 4-h, which I won. This gave me my first look at leadership, and my own personal poten
