Michael Flowers

Michael Flowers

Michael thrives on paradoxes; he loves lots of silence and solitude but also lots of music and people. He is formed by the early catholic tradition both East and West and broad church renewal streams. He’s a bundle of contradictions and a classified Omnivert! Kicking off his first twenty-four years in the deep South, Michael and family moved to San Francisco, where twenty years of pastoral ministry unfolded serving in Vineyard Christian Fellowship throughout the SF Bay Area. The South and the West come together in the center, Kansas City!

He loves the nations and has ministered throughout Asia, Europe and Africa. After twenty-three years of pastoral ministry, he sought Holy Orders in the Anglican Communion. During the discernment process for ordination to the priesthood, he and his wife, Liz, sensed a call to plant a new Anglican expression in the urban core of Kansas City, MO. A small group of friends meeting in their home formed the beginnings of what is now the St. Aidan’s community. He holds an MA in Theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California.

Michael is married to Liz. They cherish two married children, Julia and Ian. They love Kansas City, their friends, dog (Nick the Bossy – Border Collie / Aussie blend), adventurous food, the historic Church, music, creatives, books, Macs, Logic Pro, all manner of musical gear and hiking. Michael is also a musician, song writer and worship leader. He’s published various projects with Vineyard Music International as well as his own CD entitled Identified.
