Frances Altman
Happily I have been able to blend a 40 year career being creative--writing, working in public relations, marketing and teaching school. Although I am now retired, I can still keep writing.
In the past I have worked for The Chicago Sun Times and Field Enterprises, The National Hot Dog & Sausage Council, Teepak and Devro Corporations, Allied Signal (now Honeywell), Virginia Tax Department, and Virginia Commonwealth University. At the same time I was writing freelance articles for various community newspapers and trade publications.
Writing seriously all began in the early 60s when I began writing children's stories for denominational publications, and six books for T.S. Dennison, Minneapolis. This included "Reggie the Goat," The Something Egg," Dwight D. Eisenhower, Crusader for Peace," Douglas MacArthur, Military Genius," "George Gershwin, Musician, " and Herbert Prochnow, Banker."
While I was working for the Sun Times and Teepak, I decided to go to college, and eventually earned a BGS degree and Masters degree from Roosevelt University, Chicago.
In 1972 I retired my husband, Charles Altman, passed away and I moved to Baltimore to be near my daughter and her family. I began writing again and now have added two new books. "Spirit Dog" and "Mister Umbrella Man" are both available now cfrom Amazon.com or Kindle. Enjoy!
