The reality of Abruzzo Segreto was born from the will of Francesca Ardizzola in the spring of 2005 in the ancient medieval village of Navelli, where at that time talking about tourism was still a utopia.

Francesca has a special story because she is the daughter of a mother from Abruzzo (from Navelli), who emigrated to northern Italy in the 60s. Although life was happy for the Ardizzola family between Piedmont and Liguria, Navelli, with its 'ancient heart', remained the place of the heart for Francesca, where she spent every summer in contact with nature and country life. Grandma Luigia's ancient stone house represented the authentic roots where they met every summer.

At the age of 30, with a well-established antiques and old books business that had been going on in Milan for 6 years, Francesca, who has always remained very attached to Abruzzo, decides to take the big step and change her life for the better. Far from the clamor of the city, she decides to move to her beloved mother's town that she had frequented every summer, with her grandmother, since she was a child! So she decides to buy a nineteenth-century residence with a beautiful park; at the beginning of the last century the property was the medical clinic of the town of Navelli .

The experience of the city, the acquired professionalism and the use of foreign languages ​​allowed Francesca to start the new adventure of the bed & breakfast.

After a short time, many other tourist activities opened in the L'Aquila area which, together, made a quality experiential tourism take off.

From the very beginning, the Abruzzo Segreto accommodation facility was mentioned in several international guides, including the Michelin Guide, and in Italy also in the renowned Guides of the Touring Club Italiano, from which it has received the Premio Stanze Italiane TCI every year since 2012.
