Francesca Bizzarri

Paris, Rome, Abu Dhabi

Hello world! Here some news about me while I fix my old French website.

I live in Abu Dhabi now. But let’s start from the beginning. Ok, let’s skip my Master Degree in Math. What counts is that I got my Acting Diploma at Scuola di Teatro di Bologna Alessandra Galante Garrone where I trained in the Lecoq Method with Alessandra herself, and then perfected my training in workshops and seminars in Italy, France and UK, such as:

“La Théâtralité du Mouvement” with Théâtre du Mouvement, and “The Neutral Mask” with Clive Mendus of Théâtre de Complicitè.

In 1997 I played in the Alice in Wonderland production by Teatro delle Briciole and Teatro GiocoVita: we toured Europe for five years, with more than 200 representations. Alice marked the start of the my collaboration with Maurizio Bercini and Marina Allegri who, since then, wrote several leading roles for me in their shows such as: Poil de Carotte, Scarpette Rosse, Italian Folktales, Locomotiva 1861, Unpopiuinlà.

In Europe I performed mostly in French and in Italian, with the occasional show in Spanish and Portuguese.

While I lived in Paris, I worked with choreographer Kitsou Dubois in her production: La Danseuse, la chaise et son ombre; and with Jacka Mare Spino in his street-theatre show Roule Ma Boule which opened the First Paris Plage Festival in 2002. The collaboration with Cà Luogo d’Arte trained me in Puppet Theater and set design as well.

Theater aside, I performed in the advertising caravan of the Tour de France for Nestlé Aquarel; I featured in French tv series, films and advertising for Guinness Beer and Lancaster Beauty. I shared my passion for acting, by holding workshops and masterclasses in Italy, France, Germany and Kenya.

And now?

At New York University Abu Dhabi I held two workshops on the Masks and on Commedia dell’Arte in 2013 and 2014: and more are scheduled for this year. At Zayed University Abu Dhabi I held two workshops on Lecoq moving body theater methods.

Currently I am involved in several projects; this country is amazing and hungry for the Arts: follow me on twitter to stay in touch.

Ciao, Fra.
