Francesco Petruccione

I was born in 1961 in Genova (Italy). I studied Physics at the University of Freiburg i. Br. and received my PhD in 1988. I got his “Habilitation” (Dr. rer. nat. habil.) from the same University in 1994 and worked there until 2003. In 2004 I was appointed Professor of Theoretical Physics at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Since 2007 I am the South African Research Chair for Quantum Information Processing and Communication. At present, I am also one of the Deputy Directors of the National Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Chairman of the Board of QZN Technology, a spin off company of UKZN.
