I’m Francesco Saltarelli, a Montreal-based landscape designer and the founder of Saltarelli Outdoor Design. I specialize in creating elegant, livable outdoor spaces that feel like natural extensions of the home. My work focuses on custom backyards, rooftop terraces, and urban green spaces designed to balance beauty, comfort, and functionality while respecting Quebec’s climate.

My passion for landscaping began early in my grandfather’s backyard garden, where I learned the patience and care required to cultivate living spaces. Those moments shaped how I approach design today—thoughtfully, hands-on, and with an appreciation for nature’s rhythms. I later studied horticulture and landscape design in Montreal, gaining a strong foundation in plant science, sustainability, and construction.

Before launching my own firm, I worked with established landscaping companies throughout the city, developing experience in project management, craftsmanship, and client collaboration. In 2014, I founded Saltarelli Outdoor Design with the goal of creating outdoor environments that enhance everyday living, not just visual appeal.

I work closely with each client to understand their lifestyle and translate it into a space that feels personal and enduring. Sustainability is central to my philosophy, from native plants to eco-conscious materials. Outside of work, I find inspiration cycling, photographing landscapes, and exploring Quebec’s natural beauty.
