FRANCES FIGART

Frances Figart is an editor, writer, marketing and communications specialist focused on the travel industry. Formerly the editor of Courier, the monthly travel magazine for the National Tour Association, she was also the marketing director for a kayak tour operator in Costa Rica and Eastern Canada before returning to her Kentucky home in October of 2010 to provide care for her mother, who passed away in late summer 2012.

Recently relocated to Asheville, North Carolina, Frances has become a regular contributor to several local publications and is taking on new consulting contracts. She has spoken about ecotourism marketing at travel industry conferences in the U.S., Canada and Europe, is a special advisor to Sustainable Travel International, and has shared her communications skills as a speaker and through committee work with The International Ecotourism Society and as a volunteer and sponsor for the Adventure Travel Trade Association.
