Working in the Meteorology and Pollutant Dynamics Department at the Mediterranean Center for Environmental Studies since April 1998.
My main research interest is the study of meteorology in the western Mediterranean, especially in the field of major weather hazards in the Valencia region such as meteorological risk situations for wildfires and torrential rains. My main work frame has been the numerical simulation of the above mentioned risks. In this sense, I have investigated the factors, topography or sea surface temperature, involved in torrential rains to assess their contribution to this type of events.
Another field of research has been the study of sea surface temperature, both from the study of its climatology and of its interaction with torrential rains. I have also worked on the study of land temperature patterns in the Community as well as its forecast by meteorological modeling.
I have been involved in twelve research projects, two of them funded by the European Union (CIRCE and FUME) and participated in 20 scientific publications and journal articles, book chapters as well as conferences and scientific forums.
Additionally, since 2001 I am teaching Physics in Engineering degrees at the School of Technology and Experimental Sciences at the Universitat Jaume I of Castellón.
