I am a strategic communications specialist offering integrated communications solutions specifically; Media relations, Public Relations, branding, publications and Information Education and Communication (IEC) materials and events planning. I am driven by the strong desire to communicate meaningful stories of change.

AREAS OF SPECIALISATION

 Managing media relations and maximize media opportunities: Pro-active media liaison; pitching stories; organizing interviews; providing media briefings; writing Op-Eds;

 Media contacts management: Development of a comprehensive media lists/database (journalists and media houses)

 Integrating social media into overall media plans and activities

 Staff media training: enhancing capacity of staff and partners through development of guidelines, training materials on messaging as well as providing editorial support.

 Leading the production and dissemination of communication materials, including researching, writing, editing, typesetting of publications, newsletters, speeches, case studies and project/programme reports

 Multimedia solutions: production and maintenance of multimedia tools including but not limited to documentaries and short video series, newsletters/ e-bulletin, infographics; brochures, online and offline banners.

 Organizing special media events such as media launches, news conferences, press briefings, media training among others

TECHNICAL CAPACITY

I hold a Bachelor Degree in Development Communication from St Paul’s University; Diploma in Project Management (Kenya Institute of Management-KIM), Diploma in Journalism; Mass Communication and Media Studies (Shang Tao Media Arts College & Institute of Commercial Management-ICM). I have vast experience in media consultancy having worked with Hivos Foundation, Society for international Development (SID) and Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC). I also worked at The Institute for Social Accountability TISA as a Communications Officer. I love writing and I am an occasional columnist with The Star Newspaper. I am the founder of Events-Comm Empire Limited, an events management and strategic communication company and Co-Founder of Neo-Edge Limited, a project management firm offering sustainable construction solutions and general contracting services.
