Agronomist and rural economist by training, I have been working on rural development, food security and crisis management over the last 33 years in Africa, Asia, Latine America, central Europe. After years in the UN, NGO and ICRC, i moved to Groupe URD. It was the beginning of a new adventure. Starting from nothing apart of an incredible site in the Provencal hills of Baronnies, in front of Mont Ventoux, a lot of ideas and a bit of utiopia, we managed to bring Groupe URD among the top of research and evaluation institutions specialized on disaster prevention and post crisis humanitarian aid, and LRRD/recovery/Resilience (see www.urd.org). We also managed to make the Grouoe URD HQ a reference as one of the best "eco-sites" in Europe.
