Francois Tresfels
Odd Tone Henri, a.k.a. Truffles a.k.a. Francois-Henri Tresfels, has a rich, unique musical styling to reflect the tropical island he hails from. Fusing together genres from hip-hop, funk, and synth-pop to soul, he seeks to answer the question: What is the music of today’s generation?
Born in the indian ocean in reunion Island, he grew up between the traditional French-African-Creole culture and massive wave of modern music. At an early age his mother exposed him to jazz soul and brazilian bossa-nova. He began piano lessons at age 8. Continuing his musical exploration, OddTone took-up his uncle’s abandoned guitar, hidden in the attic of his childhood home.
He took his love for music to the next level traveling to Bordeaux, then Paris attending professional sound engineering and music production schools. Wanting to make a life of his passion he continued his journey to San Francisco, studying the bleeding edge of digital music production, from scoring film and game audio to studio work at Pyramind Sound Institute.
With it’s culture of pioneer vision, San Francisco opened Odd Tone to an entirely new landscape of sounds and experiences. California had long influenced Francois from a far and upon arriving, he began piecing together the fundamentals of his musical style rooted in groove and sultry rhythms. Synth based melodies and trip-hop elements coalesce the old school with the new, and with a wishtank full of the styles of his predecessors, Odd Tone Henri is set to put his stamp in the book of today’s music.
