Franco Lumachi is an accomplished medical professional with teaching and practical experience from around the globe. Over the course of three decades, he has rightfully earned the title of Professor, passing on his knowledge to countless doctors, nurses, and academic minds. Professor Lumachi’s work has been peer reviewed not only in his native Italy, but internationally as well, appearing in such works as the British Journal of Cancer, European Journal of Cancer, Gynecologic Oncology, Clinical Endocrinology, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Journal of the American Board of Family Practice, World Journal of Surgical Oncology, and the Indian Journal of Medical Sciences.
Professor Lumachi is today an Associate Professor of Surgery at Italy’s second oldest university, The University of Padua. With his offices in the School of Medicine’s Department of Surgical & Gastroenterological Sciences, Professor Lumachi has for the last 15 years combined a love of teaching with an enthusiasm for clinical research and work. In the former instance, teaching, Professor Lumachi has lectured variously,a dn given lessons on General Surgery, Emergency Surgery, Surgical Anatomy, Endocrine Surgery, and Senology across the University of Padua’s School of Plastic Surgery, School of Emergency Surgery, School of General Surgery, and School of Medicine. In the latter sense, clinical research, Professor Lumachi has been an Attending Surgeon in General Surgery and Endocrine Surgery, as well as performed work with the University’s Breast Surgery Unit.
Franco Lumachi earned his Medical Degree in 1977 from the University of Padua. Professor Lumachi remained at the University of Padua for postgraduate work in General Surgery before relocating to the University of Verona for work in Endocrine Surgery, and he returned to his alma mater in 1990 to study Endocrinology. Professor Lumachi is a member of the Oxford University-based Collaborative Group on Hormonal Factors in Breast Cancer, the New York Academy of Sciences, The Endocrine Society, the European Society of Surgical Oncology, and the Italian Society of Surgery.
