I was born in Germany and moved to Canada as a kid in 1965, so adapting to new places and new expectations started early for me. I grew up in Vancouver and later in Oliver, BC. Sports played a big role in shaping who I became. I wrestled competitively and ranked second in the province in my weight class. I played rugby and soccer, and I learned early that discipline and consistency matter more than raw talent.
I built my career by taking on roles that forced me to learn fast and stay calm under pressure. I’ve worked in intelligence, investigations, tactical environments, and senior leadership positions. Those experiences taught me that simple systems and clear thinking work best when things get complicated. I still use habits I learned years ago, like short debriefs and handwritten notes, because they keep me grounded and focused.
I went back to university as a mature student while working full time and later completed a Master of Public Administration. Learning never stopped for me. Today, as Chief of Safety and Security for the Natural Factors Group of Companies, I focus on building culture, awareness, and trust. For me, leadership has always been about showing up steady, paying attention, and doing the work the right way.
