Frank Hudson

A veteran business leader with more than 25 years of experience, Frank Hudson presided as the CEO of the Lassen Medical Group from 2006 to 2011. In this position, Hudson managed organizational development for the region’s largest primary health group, including the recruitment of two dozen qualified physicians. He also led the restructuring of the board of directors, initiated revised best practices, and acted as the spokesperson for the organization. Possessing an intimate knowledge of the local healthcare systems, Frank Hudson served as the Director of the Affiliated Hospitals of San Francisco and the founding Commissioner of the Health Plan of San Mateo, California. Frank Hudson laid the foundation for his career at St. Edward’s University and the University of South Carolina. To gain a deeper understanding of hospital management, Hudson completed several graduate courses at the Estes Park Institute and the University of Colorado as well. After starting his career with St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa, Florida, he relocated to California and accepted a position as the Associate Administrator of Seton Medical Center in 1979. By 1985, Frank Hudson was directing all activities at the facility as the President and CEO. In 1990, Frank Hudson left his position with Seton Medical Center to complete a yearlong sabbatical. Hudson subsequently became the CEO of the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of San Francisco, where he served from 1991 to 2001. During this time, he enhanced his understanding of the nonprofit sector through courses at the Harvard Business School and became an inaugural member of the institution’s Social Enterprise Institute. From 2002 to 2006, Frank Hudson gained a breadth of experience with public and private entities as an independent consultant in Hawaii. Hudson undertook an array of projects during this time—from recruiting and training executive leaders to conducting capital campaigns and streamlining statewide projects.
