FRANK SSEMAKULA
Frank Ssemakula is a Telecommunications Engineering student at Makerere University (Uganda), class of 2018, with a first class diploma in Telecommunications Engineering and a credit certificate in information technology from Uganda Institute of Information and Communication Technology.
Frank is a Brand Ambassador (BA) at AfricaTalentBank.com (ATB), which is a digital recruitment company that aims to prepare, position, and transition students from campus to corporate life. ATB also organizes events which include graduate career fairs where key speakers have included: Paul Musaasizi, Chief Executive Officer, Kiira Motors Project.
Frank trained with MTN-Uganda, one of the telecom mobile providers under the department of Radio Planning and Optimization where he was involved in frequency planning, site surveys, drive testing and cell optimization. He also trained with Civil Aviation Authority Uganda (CAA), where he was introduced to Satellite Systems, Radar Systems, Automatic Weather Observation Systems, and Terrestrial Trunked Radio System (TETRA).
Frank has interned as a Customer Care Representative for Airtel Uganda under ISON Company Limited where he was involved in resolving customer complaints, advising customers on company information, persuading customers to consider different products and in this role, he was able to utilize different computer applications to handle customer complaints and compile corresponding reports.
Frank is a highly innovative and talented Ugandan who is co-founder of the Leading Edge Engineers which is a team of innovative engineering students focusing on creativity and innovation. The team also received an award for the Best Engineering Project of the year 2015 at College of Engineering, Design Art and Technology Open Day Exhibition (Smart Home). He is also a co-founder of Leading Edge Career Guidance Solutions which is a prime national motivational and inspirational organization founded by Makerere University students with the aim of providing career guidance to secondary school students by bridging the gap between institutions of higher learning and secondary school life.
Frank is a responsible and respectable person with leadership roles serving as a member school management committee for St. Kizito Mugigi Primary School, Kalungu District. He is also a student member of the Uganda Institute of Professional Engineers (UIPE) and Makerere Engineering Society (MES).
