Who are you?
Growing up in Lisburn, Northern Ireland I have had the opportunity to study at a grammar school, college and University now majoring in Software Engineering.
What would you look for in a job?
Positivity, followed by teamwork! The difference that positivity and enthusiasm makes on a team is huge. There should be a professional feel with a personal touch, it's to be mindful of the people and how much the job can make them grow.
What is your background in educational tech?
First introduced to IT in 2014 studying for my GCSEs, after doing so well I decided to do a Diploma in IT followed by an HNC in IT then fast forward to now, Software Engineering at Ulster University.
What's the most important aspect of the workplace?
Kindness and willingness to help others. Everyone will get stuck at one point, it's whether you have the right environment to get up and keep on going! I believe people skills are very underestimated and when working in a close proximity to your coworkers for 1/3 of your week, there should be a culture of treating others with respect and fairness.
