An expert in the field of complex fluid flow and heat/mass transfer, Frank Warnakulasuriya holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Over the course of his 25-year career, he has designed operational systems in industrial applications that range from petroleum and petrochemical products to power and refrigeration. Frank Warnakulasuriya’s former employers include Ceylon Fishery Harbors Corporation in Colombo, Sri Lanka; the M.A. Al-Balawi Establishment in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia; the Institute of Gas Technology in Des Plains, Illinois; and Shell & Tube Heat Exchangers in Stafford, Texas. Mr. Warnakulasuriya most recently served three years as a senior thermal/mechanical engineer with Ohmstede, Ltd., in Beaumont/League City, Texas.

Frank Warnakulasuriya has also done extensive work in the field of academia, first at various institutions of higher learning in Sri Lanka and later at Texas A&M University at Galveston. Over the course of his eight years with Texas A&M, he taught and mentored students as a professor/lecturer and developed curriculum as the assistant head of the marine engineering department.
