As a student of photography I learned to shoot, process and print with film. I experimented with genres and key techniques before focusing on portraiture and still life. Following graduation, I started a collective called Domicile Crocodile and began to mix photography with more collaborative practices including design and moving image. This sparked a new desire to pursue filmmaking.

In 2014 I entered an MA Film programme at Screen Academy Scotland, 1 of only 3 film schools in the UK which is recognised as a centre of excellence in film practice education. I competed the course and was awarded a Masters with Distinction. My graduation project, ‘Event Horizon’ (written and directed by Joséfa Celestin; produced by Margarita Veberaite) was selected to compete at Paris Courts Devant, an International Short Film Festival which is identified as a ‘First Class’ Festival by the Centre National de la Cinématographie in France. It has been screened at festivals worldwide including Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, Canada and Internationale Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Germany.

After graduation I continued to work with the team from 'Event Horizon' to develop a business plan for a production company. We were awarded in the Film category of the Deutsche Bank Awards for Creative Enterprise and received a cash prize for business startup costs. Shakehaus launched in 2016 and its client list includes multinationals, creative agencies and startups/SMEs. As well as performing the DoP, camera operator and colourist role at Shakehaus, I was also responsible for PR, marketing, social media and business development.

After one year working to establish the company with my partners, I decided to return to full-time freelance work, motivated by my desire to pursue my ambition of working internationally with a variety of collaborators in different genres of filmmaking.

Recent clients: BBC, Spirit Media, Filming Scotland, Freakworks.
