Fred Fanning

Fred Fanning is an independent writer. His published work includes two editions of the peer reviewed book Basic Safety Administration-A Handbook for the New Safety Specialist. Fred also authored two editions of the peer reviewed chapter Safety Training and Documentation Principles that was published in the bestselling Safety Professional Handbook, edited by Dr. Joel Haight. Fred also wrote a peer reviewed chapter in the Book Hazard Prevention through Effective Safety and Health Training, edited by Dr. Joel Haight.

Fred is also the author of Hazard Control Management-A Training Manual for Today’s Business Leaders; Essays on Safety, Health, and Environment; and Essays on Public Administration. Fred has over 41 technical articles published.

Fred is a member of the Virginia Writers Club and the Riverside Writers Guild. He placed first in the Professional Writing Contest sponsored by the Federal Managers Association and received the 2007 Best Newsletter Article award from the American Society of Safety Engineers. Fred received three Silver Quill Awards from the US Army Chemical Review and four Silver Quill Awards from the US Army Engineer Bulletin.

Fred has written for several publications including the; Government Community of Practice Magazine, Professional Safety Journal; Perspectives, Communicator and Envirometer newsletters; IMPAX Magazine; Army Chemical Review; Army Engineer Bulletin; Civilian Accident Prevention Program Report; and World Safety Organization Tech‑Letter.
