Fred Bonilla

Photographer in Westport, Connecticut, United States

2026 marks my 49th year as a photographer & in the photo retail industry (I was 7 when I started!)

Actually, I started right out of college as the manager of a small photofinishing store in Jackson Heights, NY and have been part of the staffs of such stores as Westside Camera, Lens & Repro and K&M Tribeca in New York City and manager of CameraArts (Westport) & Greenwich Photo, Card & Gift in Connecticut.

I earned the highest professional recognition in the photo/digital imaging industry (Certified Photo Consultant) from the Photo Marketing Association in 1999 and have continued to cultivate my passion for photography by participating with photo organizations such as En Foco & Help-Portrait, a contributing writer to Photoinduced.com and shooting fine art, portrait & floral photography . An image of mine (named Shrine) was selected for exhibition at the 2009 Look 3 Festival of the Photograph in Charlotteville,Va. and was also shown at a multi-media presentation at Le Musee De L’Elysee in Lausanne, France in 2011.

I was a teaching assistant at the International Center of Photography in New York City from 2021-2024 and am currently a volunteer at Person to Person in Fairfield County, Connecticut in their food pantry and clothing center.and I also relish my role as husband, father and grandfather of 5 and live in Norwalk, CT.
