Fred Fletcher

Fred Fletcher Jr. has a dynamic work background rich with experience as a marketer, developer, and financial manager. All of Fletcher’s past work has culminated in the acquisition of his current position as Manager of Healthcare Development Partners of NC, LLC. Fred Fletcher Jr. comes from a successful business family and has been surrounded by business throughout his youth; as Fletcher puts it, "I've been an entrepreneur ever since I could spell ‘LEMONADE’!” As a college football player while at North Carolina State University, Fletcher founded the legendary Jolly Knave, a college bar and shag dance club that celebrated its 43rd anniversary in 2010 to a sellout crowd. Using his studies in economics, entrepreneurship, and industrial arts at NC State, Fred mastered the art of business, which has provided him with the foundation to leverage his visionary qualities. Fred Fletcher Jr. has successfully founded, managed and grown over 10 firms and engaged in numerous real estate transactions exceeding $150 million. Fletcher’s experience with big contract deals in independent business makes him versatile and prepared for any situation; Rex Hospital entered into a contract with Fred Fletcher Jr. for the assemblage of a 40 acre trtact of land for its Holly Springs Micro Campus in February of 2008. Besides his active business endeavors, Fred Fletcher Jr. also participates in his community by being an active member of the National Main Street Center and the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He helped organize Downtown Washington on the Water, the economic development organization for Washington, North Carolina, and led a renaissance in Washington's downtown. In 2003, he conceived (with a small group of passionate volunteers) and launched "Music in the Streets" a monthly third-Friday event of music and dance in the streets of Downtown Washington that continues today. Fletcher is also credited, along with Roger Tuttle, for co-founding the Washington Christmas Flotilla held every Christmas season on the Pamlico River. Fred Fletcher Jr. has the skill, vision, and drive to overcome any business dilemma, as is made obvious by his impressive repertoire of business involvements and civic services.
