Being born and raised in beautiful Northern California, I was surrounded by nature's extreme beauty. Mountains, rivers, forests, foothills, lakes and valleys, were a sportsmans paradise. I, like so many youth in my day, played sports of all kinds until I graduated from high school with hopes of playing in college. During these preparatory years I found myself deeply longing to leave my familiar surroundings and see the world. My appetite for this was developed early in life while visiting an uncle in the beautiful Pacific island paradise of Hawaii. I traveled there every summer to work and play for many years. Early in my freshman year of college I had an accident which caused me to have to withdraw from school. After recovering, with all hopes of playing sports gone, I joined the United States Navy and was immediately sent to Orlando, Florida for boot camp. After boot camp, I was stationed on the East Coast on a ship out of Little Creek, Virginia.

I didn't realize at the time that my dreams of seeing the world were to be fulfilled. And see the world I did. England, France, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Scotland, the Canary and Shetland Islands, Spain, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, and many Caribbean islands as well. While in the Navy I became a born again Christian, which began a journey for me I never envisioned. I began to study the Bible, teach and preach onboard the ship. I have never been the same since. I met my wife Cheryl in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1977. Cheryl and I were married two weeks after my enlistment was fulfilled in February 1980. After the Navy, I did various jobs until settling into my Father In Laws plumbing business in 1984 becoming a Master Plumber. Our first daughter, Heidi was born in that year, followed by three other daughters, Heather, Hannah and Haley in the next thirteen years. We also have five grandchildren.

Behind the scenes I was being prepared for the 'calling' I was truly sent to this earth for....the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Throughout thirty eight years of ministry we have moved many places, seen many new things and met many wonderful people. Our life of 'faith' has not always been easy, but it has been so very rewarding. It truly is a calling. After getting ill nearly five years ago, my wife and I felt it was time to return to Northern California for a while to become reaquainted with family and old friends and hopefully new friends as well. Today begins another journey !
